Pros

Pc Mall has been around for more than 25 years. They are the fastest growing IT reseller in the US.
One of the only jobs in Montreal that doesn't require French

Cons

There are 400 employees and a very high turn over. The beginning is hard, mostly cold calling. After you get some accounts, you become an account manager.

    working with fellow peers reps

    management has no idea how to sell or delivery professional services
    company mis-represents its service delivery capabilities to clients ... it's all smoke and mirrors ... 90% of their service delivery workforce is contracted out to mercenaries
    senior management team has been incumbent since when the company was in its infancy ... they are way out of their league now
    company nickle, dimes and micro manages you ... you need VP approval to expense a lunch!
    company mis-calculates commissions all the time and its the job of the sales rep to catch it and then fight to get what's owed
    company shows no appreciation of its employees ... "churn em and burn em" career path mentality
    compensation tiers are the lowest in the market

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    embrace who you are ... a hardware reseller company ... either get out of the IT consulting business or hire a team of management professionals who know what they're doing ... not likely since the last market savvy President they hired for this role quit after 3 months

    Pros

    Depending on the team or job, the people are great. My direct supervisor is a great guy and very flexible about time. The work is interesting and the people are great.

    Cons

    I don't feel that I have anywhere to move to within the company. There is so much process that it gets in the way of getting work done. The divisions of the brands just confuses things and makes getting work done harder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There needs to be a way of simplifying interaction between the companies. I can't imagine how much redundancy their must be and how many employees there are whose job is to interact with their counterpart in another "brand". Ridiculous!
