I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group

    Pros

Reasonably good benefits, 401k and pension

    Cons

Sales take precedence over anything else, including customer service
Sales goals ridiculously unattainable creating poor morale
Extremely cheap, frugal in every aspect ranging from office supplies to workplace environment, i.e. no offices for anyone except managers
Non-competitve base salary and incentive comp plan compared to peers
Managers manage up rather than advocate for their employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show some appreciation to your workforce by creating a more welcoming, comfortable work environment for professional, credentialed officers rather than shoving them into cubicles.
Provide restricted stock, options, paid parking, well defined incentive comp plans for anyone with sales goals who meet or exceed expectations.
Create a work environment and compensation structure competitive with wire houses, boutique firms and premier asset managers if you want to attract and retain top performers rather than simply rewarding yourselves based on the efforts of your client facing officers who actually bring in new clients and serve exsisting ones.
