Good company to work for overall but can't compete with the salaries of other chem companies or oil companies.

Pros

Management seems to care about their employees for the most part.
Management keeps employees informed about decisions being made.
People are friendly and very willing to help.

Cons

Prides itself on being one of the largest producers of Chlorine but at the lowest rates. This means they cannot pay their employees as much as other companies which means it is hard to retain people.
Money is taken from the chemical plants and put into the coatings plants. There is not enough money spent on upkeeping the facilities.

    Pros

    Fantastic products, great technical support.

    Cons

Very disorganized. Bureaucracy brings this company to a total standstill for any decisions. Not globally minded. Most employees over 40 yrs old...

    Pros

Experience and travel. Most store managers are good people, it's hard to watch them be worked so hard though. It's easy to track how well your store is doing. Communication within the company is pretty good, except they make it seem as though they care when, by their actions, it's clear they do not.

    Cons

Pay is bad, micro-management to the extreme, must travel or take jobs you don't want to stay employed, harassment in a male dominated field, absolutely no help when hurt on the job - workers compensation supplies the worst care and for only a few months even if your injury is long lasting. My list could go on, having this job was the biggest waste of my time. Wish I never took the job.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time in stores, have manager's give anonymous "report cards" on SGM's, QUIT RUNNING SKELETON CREWS -or- quit requiring so much out of a two man store that should be ran with 5-6, you're running off good people! Also, in CDP training, give more training on paperwork and have them act as managers in their RDC stores before sending them into their own store, aka "the lion's den". Do not have CDP's used as stock employees or janitors while being trained at their RDC stores.
