Pros

This technology and industry is growing. Pricing is something companies are actively seeking, especially in a downturn economy. Science team is brilliant. People/Environment are nice. Very diverse environment, cultures are welcome with no prejudice. Midtown/Downtown Houston is a great place to work.

Cons

There is no growth structure identified, no bonus/raise structure identified. No share ownership plan. Competitors seem to pay more. Training is pretty bad, there seems to be the wrong people facilitating the training.Poor processes that never get followed. Alot of politics. Titles and positions do not mean anything. Alot of competitive bashing going on. Very high turnover rate.

Advice to Management

Care more about employees. Have a solid growth strategy in place. Try to reduce the high turnover rate. If senior management gets a bonus, why can't the rest of the employees?

    Pros

You get to work with interesting clients like domestic and international airlines. PROS sponsors H1B visas. The location is fairly centrally located and is easy to reach using mass transit. Location is also in a developing area.

    Cons

Management plays favorites. When I was there, training opportunities were extremely limited. CEO will berate employees for telling customers that they should be contacting their assigned consultant and not development employees directly. CEO owns no shares of the company.

    Advice to Management

Care about everyone and not just your favorites. Show that you believe in the company by having shares in your own company.

I worked at PROS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Has potential with some really bright people and solid technology, but needs to stop self destructing!

    Cons

Don't expect results to be a measure of your success - politics and internal relationships prevail with an unhealthy, tight knit band of brothers who have grown up together with the CEO. The 'Cloud First' strategy is at best confused, with little ability to deliver a cohesive plan. Issues with infrastructure, compensation, contracts and legacy technology compounded by management that does not recognise the challenges will make the vision impossible to deliver in a reasonable timeframe. Too many customers who are not satisfied with the solutions which are complex and very difficult to implement.

    Advice to Management

Clear out the mediocre senior manager and focus on delivering results over protecting relationships. The CEO has real talent but must not let his loyalties hinder progress.
