I worked at Pace Harmon

Pros

Great, intelligent coworkers; collegial environment; learning on the job means more responsibility is given to you from the start; very competitive compensation and benefits

Cons

As with any small firm, things tend to be more unstructured; no brand name; projects are not consistently high value; not a ton of internal resources to leverage aside from human capital

I worked at Pace Harmon full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Outstanding experience, accelerated growth and career path, and no limit to growth. Fantastic culture, built and reinforced by the partners and firm leadership. Compensation for top college grads is much higher than the big-four, and at par or better than the top 3 strategy consultancies.

    Cons

Trial by fire - not for the faint hearted - hard work, challenging assignments, and no time-outs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to build your brand - Pace Harmon is one of the best kept secrets on college campuses.

I have been working at Pace Harmon full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

While it is a small firm, Pace Harmon 'fights above it's weight class' as a result of the caliber of the people within the firm. Each practitioner has a tremendous toolkit of prior experience, expertise and understanding of the problems the firm's clients hire it to help address. If you are a subject matter expert, this is a great place to shine. If you are just starting out, but are eager to dive into details and use your sharp intellect to understand and solve complex business problems, Pace Harmon is a great place to work.

    Cons

Because it is a small firm, and because client work always comes first, there can be some challenges in focusing enough attention on firm operations. This does appear to be in the process of being addressed, and does not seem to negatively impact the team but is a difference from what you might find in a very large, Big 5 firm (that has significant operational support staff)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to cultivate and develop the experience and expertise that the staff have, and look for ways to broaden that expertise via recruiting and training. Good efforts are made here but you can never have too much focus on developing and honing your product (which in this case are the practitioners at the firm!)
