I have been working at PacifiCorp full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Better than average pay scales. Many diverse opportunities in six different states. Good benefits and 401k. Great managers and co-workers who appreciate the job they have and have pride in their company.

Cons

There is some shift work involved depending on your position. You may have a long commute in heavy traffic depending on where you live.

    Pros

The best part of the company was the non-management co-workers.

    Cons

MEHC, more work than people, declining benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to take care of their employees and not always just watch out for themselves.

I have been working at PacifiCorp full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pay check always on time. Still have a job. Will be in business for a long time because they are thrifty and people are willing to work for a lot less.

    Cons

Loss of pension, adequate health insurance, safety awards, vacation time, educational reimbursement, employee appreciation events, cost of living raises just begins to explain the last 5 years under Warren Buffet's rule. Layoffs for employees with 20 plus years of service to make room for younger cheaper employees. Nepotisism is rampant allowing the management ranks to fill with unqualified leaders. This has gone from a productive profitable company when owned by Scottish Power to a miserable salt mine under Warren Buffet. It is nice that he gives so much to charity because his own employees are going to need it when he is through with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees, they are a lot of truly intelligent hard working people here that are totally under valued. Wake before Pacificorp becomes the laughing stock of the utility industry.
