Pros

PG&E is a great company to work for, with great people. That makes the negative press bearable.

Cons

The company is struggling with some pretty negative issues, compounded by near-daily bad press. Working hard to make things better.

    Pros

The pros are that it's a great place to be able to maintain a decent wage and have a nice safe steady job and income. It's a place where you work for a pension (this might be changing) and a lot of people stick around long enough to max that out. They also offer great medical benefits (this might be changing) as well as 401k with matching.

    Cons

Cons would be partly a large company will have bureaucracy and some decisions don't make sense sometimes but still must be followed.

    Advice to Management

Allow time for process changes to occur to make sure it's a robust good process that has the end user's input.

Good place to gain experience but not for long term growth

    Pros

-ability to learn transferrable skills -learn how to work within matrix organization -great benefits and reimbursement program -product is relatable

    Cons

-convoluted leadership structure with capped ceilings for growth -doesn't foster open and honest communications within organization -continual spin in terms of goals and priorities -antiquated ways of thinking due to fear of public scrutiny and relationship with Commission

    Advice to Management

In order to grow and develop as a company, you need to be willing to risk the backlash from the public and strive to do what is best for the customers regardless of the judgments along the way. Be willing and open to talk to the Commission. Push back when things don't make sense and stop forcing your employees to work on a project that is set up to fail from the get go.
