Pros

PG&E is a great company to work for, with great people. That makes the negative press bearable.

Cons

The company is struggling with some pretty negative issues, compounded by near-daily bad press. Working hard to make things better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am new and management is often changing, it is hard to say . It would be nice if they would try to tell as few lies as possible.

I have been working at Pacific Gas and Electric

    Pros

    -ability to learn transferrable skills
-learn how to work within matrix organization
    -great benefits and reimbursement program
    -product is relatable

    Cons

-convoluted leadership structure with capped ceilings for growth
-doesn't foster open and honest communications within organization
-continual spin in terms of goals and priorities
-antiquated ways of thinking due to fear of public scrutiny and relationship with Commission

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In order to grow and develop as a company, you need to be willing to risk the backlash from the public and strive to do what is best for the customers regardless of the judgments along the way. Be willing and open to talk to the Commission. Push back when things don't make sense and stop forcing your employees to work on a project that is set up to fail from the get go.
