Pros

Pay, Benefits, Flexiable schedule, no watch dog mentality. Friendly Co-Workers, Modern technology and very reflective of diversity of people working in company.

Cons

Buercracey upper management. Too many business process loop holes. Too many middle people who don't know their job descpription. Too many Contract Employees.

Advice to Management

Learn your department before you ask us to ask you questions that you can't answer!

    Pros

    Strong culture of hiring from within. Large organization, culturally acceptable to move horizontally into roles/jobs without substantial history of holding similar role. Personal relationships are the gold starndard for career advancement.

    Cons

    Lack or flimsy career development paths. Narrow and constrained role definitiion. Culture does not reward initiative or proactivity, rather it is punished and discouraged. Personal relationships are the gold standard for career advancement and/or demotion. If you are lucky enough to have a sponsor who is well connected in the organization, you can advance, if not, it will be difficult. Consultants tend to be brought on for interesting, strategic, or challenging assignments, and employees relegated to support positions rather than strategic input.

    Advice to Management

    revamp rewards systems to support and encourage proactivity and initiative in employees. Finely tune career paths and competencies within career tracks. Offer more training tied to specific career tracks and give more budget to trainining employees for leadership positions.
