I worked at Pacific Gas and Electric full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of room to advance, and move around the company.

    Cons

However, years of internal promotion has lead to under qualified people being promoted into positions they aren't qualified for.

The overall talk I got from multiple directions was "Fix it and make it better, but don't change anything. People here are slow to accept change." I'm sorry, but if something is broken and you need to fix it, then you also need change something.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize when you don't have internal talent to perform at industry standard levels, and hire from the outside. You have the right roles identified, but you have the wrong people filing them.

I hope you can find a way to retain 'new blood' when you get them on board.
