Current Employee - H/R in San Francisco, CA

I have been working at Pacific Gas and Electric full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Pay is aveerage for SF Bay Area.

Cons

I was surrounded by people having stress-related break-downs over poor management. Very big culture of distrust in mid-management - at any time you can be re-organized out. The best people are even treated poorly so you can't count on your skills and value to be safe. I worked in H/R with great visibility. H/R people also stressed and re-organized out. EEO Unit disbanded due to poor report-writing skills. People with service reitrements are stuck here. New people and contractors do not have the visibility to the issues.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Big change is needed at Director Level. These people are destroying the organization for self-promoting purposes or out of fear. I can't speak to much higher than Director level, orther than it appears the Union has been given too much power and they are manipulating the Company.
