A good job when the economy was bad, it was stable, & as soon as the market picked up it was great to get out of there.

Pros

Paycheck
For those in the union, good for them, it’s the only protection they have – the company is not looking out for them.

Cons

The executive team was too focused on themselves and preached caring for employees when their actions did not demonstrate care.
There is no work life balance, unless you are in a union position.
Promotions take place by favoritism.
HR is a joke, they are constantly replacing, it should send some message.
Managers bully their teams and employees.

Advice to Management

It’s the old, “walk the talk”, that’s all that can be said. You do a good job telling employees what they want to hear and not fulfilling on it, if it wasn’t for the union, you’d run people into the ground and do more bullying than what is already taking place. For the sake of your employees, treat them better, they are scared of you which is why they don’t tell the truth on all the surveys you send to them, they think they’ll be identified.

    Pros

Committed front line staff. Physicians that care about patients.

    Cons

Executive team is self-serving, out of touch with employees and dysfunctional. The lack of leadership and inauthentic behavior leads to confusion, fear and distrust within middle management.

The mission and values are stated in company literature but are not embodied by Executives.

    Advice to Management

The affiliation with Providence should help the organization financially but people in executive leadership roles should be assessed for competency and leadership attributes by neutral third party. As the saying goes "the fish stinks from the head"
