I have been working at Pacific Pulmonary Services

Pros

-PPS employees take company values seriously and put patient care first
-Company is still small enough that you can get things done
-Good group of people to work with and learn from

Cons

Employee benefits (401k, vacation, health insurance) at the corporate office are not competitive with other companies in the Bay Area.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Prioritize training and emphasize consistency at all levels of the organization. Task District Managers to be true General Managers and not just sales managers.

I have been working at Pacific Pulmonary Services

    Pros

PPS is growing very quickly and it is an exciting time to come aboard and shape new processes and procedures. There are definitely growth opportunities if you work hard and prove yourself. The company is truly driven by the 6 core values and rewards those employees who exemplify them.

    Cons

This is not a place for people who don't like change- the growth the company is experiencing requires employees who are willing to learn new things and expand their job duties at times. Also because of the growth, new processes are forming there may be some unorganization in some groups until the kinks are ironed out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to listen to employee concerns and provide more transparency in changes that may take place.

I worked at Pacific Pulmonary Services

    Pros

Decent earning potential for Patient Care Coordinators. Helping patients can also be very rewarding. All IF you like working nonstop. If you enjoy working 24/7 this is the place for you!

    Cons

Senior leadership has zero regard for field employees or patients. This organization puts so much emphasis on performance, the turnover rate of Patient Care Coordinators is close to 85%. The expectation is to work 60+ hours each week, regardless of impact on employees. Senior leadership has little to no outside management or previous leadership experience. Integrity with the lead sales executive is questionable.
Important to realize - Medicare dependency makes the financial future bleak.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shelve your egos and focus on making PPS a great place to work. Get some leadership from the outside at the Sales VP level. Happy employees deliver better results. Strike the right balance managing with both a carrot and a stick. Focus on raising the level of professionalism throughout the field organization. Determine to deliver a corporate culture that drives positive behaviors. Put employees and patient care first! Honor your own core values.
