I worked at Pacific Sunwear full-time

    Pros

. There could be growth potential if you have a lot of retention which, depending on your District Manager, is constant.
. Awesome learning tools and the company is trying to correct itself.
    . Cool visual concepts.
. Fun staff and cool fellow peers.

Overall: If you have a DM who understands and has a good head on their shoulders then this place could be rewarding to work for. HOWEVER, if you have a DM who is more concerned with their own personal bottom line rather than trying to work with you, then good luck.

    Cons

. If you have a DM who is a corp. robot, then good luck.
. Workload is ridiculous, like very ridiculous, half of the time directives do not get completed because there is simply not enough time to get it done and there are so many, and who ever says it is possible works off the clock.
. You have a whole operations department which has never worked in a pacsun store under a management title....they do not know the hell it is to work on a wednesday morning during a visual week.
. District Managers can be too demanding and not understanding.
. Visuals just get harder and more time consuming and I can imagine expensive to complete.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your field management employees, and ease the workload and visuals. The finance dept should cut off all the useless spending on the props and cheap wooden boxes to make the store more visually appealing because in this economy people can give two craps about books used as shelves and wooden boxes with hanging denim or boxes of sand on a table.....use that money on hours for your part-time or less than part time employees so that they actually have an incentive to sell. Hold your District Managers accountable for unecessary retention.
