Good place to start, lots of perks. However inequity between buyers and planners is great and alarming. No bonuses.

Pros

Easy going, casual working environment. Relaxed atmosphere adds to the culture of the company, however can also be detriment to the goal of making a profit.

Cons

No bonus, no accountability expected from buyers. Buyer-ran company with very little concern for bottom line goals.

Advice to Management

Profitability and retention should be the main goal.

  1. This is a great job for young people.

I worked at Pacific Sunwear part-time

    Pros

My favorite part about the job was the discount on the items at the store. I also enjoyed practicing different sales techniques on customers to see which ones were most effective.

    Cons

The salary was not the best, and the number of customers we had, while good for the store, could get very stressful at times. Breaks were also very short.

Corporate is out of touch with it's people. The brands sell themselves, luckily.

    Pros

Annual sample sale. Exposure to artistic designs and concepts.

    Cons

Micromanagement, Favortism, Unequality, Benefits changed for the worse. It's more about who you know within the company rather than actual performance. Human Resources does not handle situations correctly.

    Advice to Management

    Follow your own company guidelines.
