Current Employee – been working at Pactiv full-time for more than 10 years

Pros – The company compensates well! Promotional opportunities limited unless. . . .

Cons – Lack of experience in key roles, lack of diversity in key manufacturing roles. Overall "deficit" based management style

Advice to Senior Management – A lot of focus on Talent Management at mid-level based on subjective measurements that seem to carry more weight than actual contribution resulting in sub-level performers to be promoted, relocated, etc, based on the "good ole boy" principle. CEO wants people to think of Pactiv as career, not a job, his staff does little to promote this sentiment. The organization will need to take another look at the top to be successful. The disingenuous recognition programs administered top down, will not have the desired impact, if they are administered half heartedly by plant management teams to meet another Corporate Directive.
