I have been working at Palm Beach Post

    Pros

Company well respected in the Newspaper industry. Good Benefits and good HR Department.

    Cons

Many people promoted to management postions that are not really adequately qualified. And once these people get into these positions, they are there forever. So if you get a bad manager, you're stuck unless you transfer or leave. Very clicky.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize the profits are in the revenue from advertising. You have a good product, transition from product driven to sales driven.

I have been working at Palm Beach Post

    Pros

It's a job in a time when so many are without work. Happy to still be receiving a pay check, though unsure how long it will last.

    Cons

Baffling culture, terrible communication, embittered employees. People assigned to management positions that don't understand what they're doing or how to begin doing their job. No chance for promotion or raises. Constant fear of layoffs. Downsizing is the new way to keep the company in the black, ultimately hurting the product in print and online.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take initiative and stand up to corporate. Take time to actually interact with your employees so they think you care.
