Pros

Palm is an entrepreneurial company that fostered an entire industry with it's Palm Pilot PDA. It had an initial lead in the smartphone space, but has floundered a bit. There are still great ideas, but at times the execution suffers. There is a gradual changing of the guard within senior management that should lead to better execution, but it will take time.

Cons

The extroverted sales culture that values ideas has been a disadvantage when it comes to execution of products. Sometimes those that don't fit into the culture are dissatisfied with promotions.

Promote talent and those that execute.
