Palm Manager in Sunnyvale, CA:   (Current Employee)

Pros

Palm is in a very exciting business. Solving frustrations by bringing new technologies to customers in a mobile fashion can really change how people work and play. The company is very product focused rather than stock price and money focused. The people are very friendly and helpful.

Cons

There are a lot of disagreements about how to make decisions. Money is tight, making it more difficult to accomplish tasks. The negative wallstreet numbers hurt morale. There is a lot of turnover in people and constant change makes it harder to have a steady path.

Advice to Senior Management

Make sure to recognize the current employees instead of just focusing on outside hires. Make sure that the company culture is maintained and that people are free to just innovate. Living in a constant "firefighting" mentality is not good for innovation.
