I have been working at Pampered Chef

    Pros

Working at the corporate HQ is great for your resume. TPC has a lot of name recognition and a strong brand. The company started by humble beginnings and makes a great story. Benefits are great and there are a lot of really good people.

    Cons

Senior management not only allows the employees in the company to act like high school teenagers in cliques, they are the majority of the drivers. Instead of teamwork, Sr. Management creates an atmosphere where if you don't fit in or look "the part" then no matter how good you are at your job you will never get a head. Annual reviews from management consisted of who I should and should not have lunch with, who did not like me and the current rumors going on about me. This type of immaturity drives employees who are not part of the "in"crowd, to quit even in a bad economy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow up! Not only should rumors not be allowed in the professional work place, Sr. Management should not take part in spreading them. All members of the cross-functional teams should start working together more to meet project deadlines instead of wasting time pointing the finger whenever something goes wrong. Also, C-level executives and Sr. Management need to learn that threatening a person's job every time a tiny error is made is NOT motivating!
