I have been working at Panasonic full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Quality product, good brand name, treated employees fairly.

Cons

They lost $12Billion in 2011. Since they bought Sanyo they are cash poor and are looking for ways to reorg their business sectors. Not a stable company at this point.

    Pros

50% 401K match up to 8% and benefits as soon as you start, but that is where it ends.

    Cons

Average workforce age is 55+, most of these people should have been let go a long time ago, but their pensions and layoff packages would cost too much money. These employees do not add value anymore, they are out of touch.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get younger! Change is needed.

I have been working at Panasonic

    Pros

A highly ethical company which is focused on the long term and genuinely cares about improving the industries and society they serve.

-The people you work for and with are top notch. There is an atmosphere of both trust and competence.
-Pay is competitive and benefits are outstanding.
-Technology and Quality leaders, you can feel good about every product and service offered.
-Company is well positioned to be a powerhouse in B2B.

    Cons

Focus on quality and technical innovation can sometimes outstep the market's demand for it.

The strong Yen has hurt pricing ability but the outlook for the yen is good and pricing should come down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As the #1 corporate goal build a product management function that is its own department. Have Engineering and R&D report to product management and follow a stricter product management lifecycle that is a slave to market demand. Have a product management function in every Major international market and make Japan Engineering and R&D responsible to those market requirements.
