    I worked at Panasonic full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    The division I worked for did a great job of selling and supporting the industries best rugged laptops and tablets. You were encouraged to learn and to truly support your customers. I worked with a lot of very good, smart people who worked extremely hard.

    Cons

    Panasonic software is bad for the most part. The software developed in Japan is really quite bad. Panasonic seems to have an expectation of hiring you with the intent of firing you. If you can last at least three years then you can finally relax somewhat. Their work/life balance is out of whack and they know it. However, the leadership keeps trying to increase sales and working more hours is the easiest way to accomplish this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be careful who you hire as managers. Just because they succeeded as an individual contributor doesn't mean that they will make a good manager. The employees are dissatisfied with the work/life balance. Do more to make sure your employees are able to take some time off because they work very hard for the most part. Also, stop hiring people with the intent on firing them if they don't succeed quickly. Either do a better job of hiring qualified people or do a better job of training the ones you hire or both. Lastly, your software sucks for the most part. Start developing the software here in America and hire world class developers.
