I worked at Pandora Jewelry part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great Product, 40% concession on all of their Pandora jewelry offered to all employees, company is great to work for in general; co-workers and assistant managers are good. Great customers, great store, and pretty pieces of jewelry .

Cons

too many expectations for the salary offered, huge territory issues, crazy minded Managers are extremely unfair and a lot of partiality and favoritism practiced ,super sarcastic comments thrown at you and blowing out your mistakes loud and inappropriately in front of other coworkers (but its okay if they do it-because they are all mighty and the boss, and their mistakes are nothing ) and low-worthless-human being treatment (dumping all the sweeping & cleaning work on one person) , no fair-chances because there's constant customers snatching techniques practiced and they tend to make you feel like you don't belong or are invaluable or perhaps their biggest waste of time & space. The customers who walked in were the nicest people, and it was fun working with them ,showing them the product and helping them out with their purchase; that was the best of my time being in the store, but its working with the people who don't act like a team and backbite about you the minute you turn your back that may put you off (no ethics or morals).

Advice to Management

some one needs to do routine surprise check on store managers behavior towards their fellow co workers to believe me when I say the above; or hire better Professional Mangers with ethics and morals. And current Managers need to treat their employees like humans, reSpect and dignity will probably go a longer way than sarcasm and i-am-the-boss-i-can-say-whatever-i-want-to-or-feel-like style.

I have been working at Pandora Jewelry full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are no pros. A prime example of greed and unethical business practices. The company could care less about it's employees.

    Cons

This company started many years ago as an unknown. They have stepped all over their dealers to get to a position they claim is equal or superior to Tiffany's. They give discounts to some of their dealers, but not all. They allow some of their dealers to sell online, but not all. They discriminate against many of their best accounts. In the beginning, they were willing to sell even to shoe stores. Now, they are very picky about who they will allow to carry their line. There was a time when they were hungry for business and allowed a store to carry the line for $2,000. Now, you have to buy $25,000 to get the line, and they tell you how to run your business. They tell you how to display, how to sell, what other lines you have to carry in your store, what you have to say to your customers, which products you have to carry, and they hire secret shoppers to make sure you are doing what they want. They have what they call national seminars to give you information on Pandora and supposedly to help you sell. But for the entertainment, they hire male pole dancers to charm the predominantly female audience. How cheesy and unprofessional. If you are a current dealer, start asking questions of other dealers on how you can stand up for your legal rights.

    Advice to Management

You have gotten too big for your britches. Even giants can fall, and you are due for a big one.
