    Pros

The company offers good benefits which include matching in the 401K and a clean work environment for the most part.

    Cons

The employees that perform the actual manufacturing work are made to feel as they arent doing enough to make up for all the management mistakes and unneeded overheads in place. Off shoring has created delivery and quality problems that have eaten away at the market share to the point that they are now letting some good people go as management tries to figure out how to save their jobs through restructuring and cost reductions.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your current managers that cant get along with each other and are creating more problems than they can solve. There is no trust in the current management!!!

Career time wasters. Does not foster talent.

    Pros

Synapsense pays very well but you must consider that this company is a VC (its investors money they are spending). There is a lot of free food and snacks in the very large break room. The offices are very large and comfortable. The office manager does a great job in making everyone very comfortable. There is a lot of traveling (that could be a con). There are a lot of team builder activities (ball games, diners, etc.). Did I mention the food, a lot of food for some reason.

    Cons

Management claims to practice the new method of the Project Managers Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) but uses very little in daily practice. Too bad, they could learn a thing or two. They have a strong Intel influence, bureaucracy, strong office politics and a strong mix of the "good ol boy" mentality of micro managing. Management does not have a strong connection/communication with its employees and has had documented cases of abusing its employees. Rather than finding and correcting issues, they just add another layer of management. The company does not show any support for someone who wants to contribute their talents. This company will not foster or mentor talented people (career time waster/damage). They are very adamant in not accepting any talented ideas/changes. Its apparent that they do not know how to place a well laid plan or idea. Even though the salary pay is good, the amount of overtime, travel and holiday/weekend hours will dilute your salary very quickly, in some cases by more than half. Office moral is poor at best. Due to most are not happy with the small town amateur type of management.

    Advice to Management

Project managers do not need four levels of management for one project (a contradiction of the PMBOK Guide). This company is way too heavy with upper management (Intel influence) and needs to cut heavy on upper and middle management. Get rid of the Intel influence and culture completely and truly adopt the PMBOK method of managing people, teams and projects. Learn to foster a leaner, happier and talented teams.
