Panduit Employee Review
Panduit – “Not what I was told or anticipated...”

Close to home, no train, new headquarters in March, flex-time, some remaining benefits, great coworkers (for the most part), ample parking, on-site cafeteria, some senior managers that recognize the importance of developing and promoting employees.
Cons
As mentioned in every other review, the shipment of so many production jobs overseas and frequent layoffs are creating a very uneasy (to say the least) environment. Many are being asked to increase their workload tremendously through the layoff periods and we have not even been given yearly living standard raises for two years. Benefits are being stripped left and right, big surprise, but its always the same old company line of still being "in alignment" with the rest of the industry. First level management is extremely incompetent yet this seems to be completely overlooked or just not that important to top management. Long time employees who dedicated their entire careers to turning the company into what it is today are being dismissed shamelessly, but somehow certain employees are able to get away with being unproductive 6 hours a day. Senior management is very secretive and information is not shared or communicated AT ALL. Overall, I go in every day and am very committed to my job and responsibilities, but my attitude towards the company has turned increasingly negative over the past year.
Advice to Senior Management
I don't know what to say. Feedback is always asked for but never acknowledged. Many in my area are not happy with the company's direction and if the current atmosphere lingers, many talented people are going to leave when the economy improves.

Interesting to see the postings of who got jobs out in the new electrical division - many people didn't make the cut.
Hope the job market improves and they will have to put a revolving door in the new Glass Pan-Palace. People will be exiting at a quick pace.
Nice to see a new review get posted.

I think they have slashed away as much as they can with the benefits. Only two good things going for them is the paycheck and the insurance.
I know I will catch grief over this next statement but so what -- another sugar day....come on......we don't need it and it is just wasted money in my opinion. it is not going to change the status of anyone or anything.

And Italy certainly didn't cause any divisions to lose their foothold.
Something radically changed along the way. Maybe it was the perks of doing business in Monterrey, Mexico that started the ball rolling downhill for all of us in this country.

But you don't know their whole, confidential story and there are always legal issues, so some may have been protected for whatever reason by Legal.
But, something in the way you speak makes me think you may be a manager that's disgruntled, so I think you may already know that.
I'm just saying that there's always more sides to a story, and you "can't believe 1/2 of what you see".

C'mon, you're better than that.
And the commenter using his real name...doh, Homer...

As for complaints about “lack of communication,” I don’t understand what people are talking about? As far as I am concerned, we have way too many “informational meetings.”

With communication meetings, it's all in the perception. Some will never feel like they're being told enough, and others feel like "don't bother me, I've got work to do".
Personally, I'd rather hear news through informational meetings than through the Pan-grapevine. Real facts get skewed.

Also, in some cases, it was a "job title" that was phased out rather than anything to do with the history of the person who held it.
Those are facts, your interpretation is your feelings.
