Pros

Flexible scheduling, works well with college students to create very friendly environment. A great place to work on nights and weekends, as most locations do not stay open too late (rarely leaving after 10:30). Ability to transfer from [Corporate] location to location without a hitch.

Cons

Some of the biggest downsides of the company are the fact that there is little or no tuition reimbursement for collegiate associates, and little opportunity for upward movement after graduation. After putting upwards of 4 years into the company, my options are limited to putting more time into hourly work as a supervisor or leave.

Advice to Management

Work with associates pursuing higher degrees to help them find possible positions in corporate or management while they are still with the company. Offer internships to employees in related programs, not hidden in some career website, if at all.

    Pros

The money is decent, my location was very flexible as far as getting an evening off if you needed it

    Cons

Blatant favoritism from higher management. NO reviews, you just kind of have to figure out how you are doing on your own. The "review" for a manager is how well you run your shift, which is the exact same one for a supervisor.

    Pros

flexible 45 hour work week, free meals, tremendous growth opportunity.

    Cons

Misleading hiring terms and Extreme favoritism on the store and area level. Basically, if your not in the favor of upper management or around when they are to see you, it doesn't help you no matter how hard you've worked for them. They single out kiss ass employees for promotions regardless of their ability or work ethic. which is pretty pathetic. My self and other former employees were promised rapid advancement and then left for dead after a short time.

    Advice to Management

Please review the reason behind high turn over on the associate and store manager level. Panera bread has many tools available to help assist district managers and general manager in people development , but its put to the way side. Look at your district managers and their hiring and retention track records. Take the warm survey a little more seriously.
