I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

It is a friendly environment. Company values are always talked about.

Cons

Insurance benefits are expensive and upper management should get paid a little more for the hours they put in.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the insurance benefits were better, this would be the icing on the cake.

Panera Bread was fun but over managed.

    Pros

Company culture is fantastic, and your co-workers are great.

    Cons

The management is never in sync with one another and you end up being micro-managed by 4 people at a time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate with each other more to avoid employee burnout.

I have been working at Panera Bread part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

-65% off food when working, 50% off food when just stopping in (this is pretty sweet if you ask me)
-Easy to move up to become a trainer, shift supervisor, manager if you are dedicated
-Usually the people who work there are pretty cool
-My managers are pretty cool, some can be bad from what I've heard

    Cons

-A little difficult to balance personal life and work
-Customers tend to think you're stupid
-We run out of product sometimes, and the customers do not take well to this
    -Closing can sometimes be difficult
    -Crazy busy in the mornings

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We all have lives outside of Panera. We are human beings. It is easy to mess up every once in a while. Also, our policies at Panera are bound to make us waste a lot of money (brewing coffee every hour) so don't complain if we follow policy and actually make coffee every hour but tell us we need to be making coffee every hour when we don't: we know it's wasteful. It's company policy so you decide whether or not to follow it.
