I worked at Panera Bread part-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great management. Great opportunity for advancement. It didn't feel like a minimum wage job. The company does an excellent job of marketing itself. The food is great, also!

Cons

I can't think of anything mentionable. I loved it there!

The working experience at Panera Bread is very satisfactory when you have a solid management team and associates.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's a very people-friendly job! You MUST be the face of Panera if you wish to see any satisfaction in working there and you must be open and friendly with customers, otherwise you'll miss the whole point of providing that Panera Warmth.

    Cons

The management team can really make or break a bakery-cafe, so as long as you have a strong management team, the happiness of it's associates and customers all depend on it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The key attraction to newer associates and even people who are looking for a new job that happen to talk into your store is a manager who can be very up-front with the rest of his crew. I have great respect towards Panera Bread managers who don't just stay in the office the entire time but instead helping grab a bagel, or making a smoothie, or helping out on the line during that lunch rush! Don't be the manager that begins to start working on schedule in the lobby during the start of the dinner rush when you had a 2pm-5pm window to get it started!
