I have been working at Papa John's part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The amount of work you put in will determine the hours you will get.

Cons

Supervisory Management has a very micro-management/bully style.

Advice to Management

Let the GM's run the store the way they see fit and you will discover a more successful franchise.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Papa John's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As a driver, the scheduling is flexible and tips make budgeting much easier and account for up to two-thirds of the pay on a fairly regular basis. Obtaining a job is easy for anybody with a running vehicle and at least relatively clean driver history check

    Cons

Low barriers to job entry means it's not uncommon to spend a few months to a year reluctantly working with an abrasive co-worker. The Tallahassee franchise in particular makes drivers stay clocked in as drivers while cleaning the store to skirt minimum wage laws, management positions begin with pay less than a dollar above minimum wage and the most dedicated employees typically only receive a raise of an extra 25 cents an hour after some fairly extensive pleading

    Advice to Management

Due to inflation devaluing money and lessons learned from experience making an employee more efficient, an employee that receives the same pay rate year after year is ultimately doing more work for less pay and (s)he will have no motivation to try harder than (s)he did yesterday. In short, once you run out of carrots, you may as well throw away the sticks.

  2. Better is not the key to their employment practices

I have been working at Papa John's part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As just a driver or instore employee it was just a job, easy to do.

    Cons

Hours cut for no reason, or because certain employees "make too much" no benefis at a reasonable cost being sent to stores other than our own without travel compensation Unprofessional attitude & use of the phrase "you can be replaced" to force compliance Lack of raises for long term employees Texting as communication from upper management

    Advice to Management

You worry so much about the bottom dollar, you don't think to remember that we low level employees are why you're making that money. Try taking care of us instead of just yourselves. Its just pizza yes, but there should still be professionalism.
