I worked at Papyrus full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Great products
    Nice customers
    The brand has potential

    Cons

    Management doesn't appreciate employees
    A lot of micromanagement
They say they accept employees ideas but that only applies to the gift wrapping
    Long hours
The store I worked for had just been switched from Carlton cards to papyrus, former Carlton employees and management were switched over to papyrus. Management and corporate were very disorganized, felt like they were figuring things out as they went. Former Carlton employees and management wanted to keep doing things the old way while new employees like myself trained with the papyrus way were trying to figure out who to listen.

    Ego-driven, false and self satisfying

    I worked at Papyrus

    Pros

    This company does pay well
    Beautiful merchandise
    Lovely customers

    Cons

If you are willing to drift from day to day without any direction or organization this is the company for you.
If you admire people who hold their hands up and say "I don't know" when asked a question instead of ignoring your requests or even presence; this is not the company for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come down to earth. Admit when you do not know things. Learn some manners and basic people skills instead of sales skills everyone can see through. Basic respect and less pompous attitude would go a long way.
