I have been working at Papyrus part-time for more than 3 years

Pros

They are flexible with schedule, pay is not bad, and there is a 40% discount. Good job for young people, and students.

Cons

Everybody knows everybody, and there is extreme micromanagement. The company is going downhill as they have decreased the employee discount, laid of several loyal employees that were employed in their second brand, Niquea.D, and keep around the employees that do no good for the company except for the fact that they are 'lifers'. A lot of unethical practices, and horrible sense of company culture. The CEO is not a role model, and you will never get a raise unless you beg for it.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lack of incentives for employees who work hard to increase their store's sales, ESPECIALLY in Custom Printing. Also, more frequent raises, and less micromanagement. Be wary of unethical practices and attitudes in your stores.

I have been working at Papyrus full-time

    Pros

This is an environment that is never boring. You are constantly on the move as the retail environment is constantly changing and evolving. It is generally a happy place to be. The stores are beautiful and the products are fun to sell.

    Cons

The nature of the business requires a lot of physical work. Payroll is tight so you are there are many instances where you are in the store by yourself, which makes it difficult to attend to customers' if is busy. As with most retail environments there is a lot of pressure to meet the complex criteria of goals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Payroll does not support the workload. There is a disconnect between Executive Management and Store Manangers.
