Pros

If you want a fast paced fun atmosphere, this is the place for you. Every day brings a new challenge, but you will never a better team to work with.

Cons

Lack of flexibility in telecommuting and dress code.

Develop a more flexible & casual work environment. Encourage more telecommuting.

    Pros

    This organization has a great mission and there is opportunity to help a lot of Veterans.

    Cons

    Unfortunately, this org is very management top-heavy with bad managers, leaving little growth for those with potential.

    I have been working at Paralyzed Veterans of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Better pay/benefits than many other non-profits in DC area, recognizable brand

    Cons

    Poor internal communication practices, entrenchment of longtime employees unwilling to adapt or entertain new ideas, entitlement of population served, no accountability

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Develop a long-term strategy (both for funding and population served) and stop using layoffs and furloughs as bandaid solutions
