Current Employee – been working at ParenteBeard
Pros – By nature of the audit profession, one has the opportunity to learn a lot about organizations in various industries. The size of most audit clients allows one the opportunity to see all aspects of an audit, rather than being stuck doing the same thing over and over again. Since the merger of both companies in 2009, the overall organization is continuing to work through the culture/growing pains of the combination. As of 2012, it seems that they are close to getting through the "thick of it."
Cons – There are some industry groups with less sophisticated clients that cause more difficulties and headaches than they should deserve, considering the corresponding revenues charged to some of these clients. Depending on various factors: staffing need, experience, etc., one may find themselves on some less than desirable client engagements.
Advice to Senior Management – Clearly communicate expectations and make goals reasonable and reachable. If changes in the firm, marketplace, etc. suggest that expectations may need to be modified, explicitly communicate such changes to garner more "buy-in."
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
