I have been working at Parsons Corporation full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Large company with many amazing opportunities to work on historic landmark projects. Currently placing a lot of emphasis on early career professionals. If you are young and can get into the ECP program you will do well at Parsons. Lost of great people working there.

    Cons

Budget is slashed every year and teams are asked to do more with less. After 10+ years some of our best brains were poached by other companies offering higher salaries and less stress. When the team started to fall behind, Parsons started switching managers instead of replacing some of the talent that was lost. Also: five year refresh cycle on laptops is way too long. Upper management has challenged all employees to be innovative but middle management often punishes employees who attempt to innovate for being less dedicated to the team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees and understand when you've reached the limits of efficiency.

Former Employee - Senior Project Manager in Salt Lake City, UT

I worked at Parsons Corporation full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Average salary and health benefits, well-above average ESOP contribution (and free), good work share between offices, relatively easy to find projects and keep busy if motivated and willing to commute short distances, good travel reimbursement system, healthy company, intellegent workforce, and rarely fired workers.

    Cons

Fair promotion potential, fair communications down from management, lack of support for outside training and conferences, small bonuses, and tedious project management financial requirements.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train project analysts to balance the monthly financial reporting for the PMs, allow the PMs to verify it, but have the PAs input and update the data. More recognition and promotions for your project managers. Recognize technical experts and don't force everyone to become PMs.
