Pros

People respect each other, work together, and celebrate each others' accomplishments. Wonderful supervisors. Professional development is valued. Nice office. It might be a non-profit, but it's run like a for-profit in that it's tight on working to deliver its mission, people have set responsibilities, leadership leads and doesn't wobble, it's in a prime location, and the office ambiance is professional. It's an open office concept which adds to the communal atmosphere and the CEO is extremely personable, respectful, and engaging.

Cons

Pay is low because it's a non-profit. Hours can be long because work is demanding and current budget restrictions don't allow for many new hires, promotions, or raises.

Advice to Management

Create a consistent telework and flex time policy.

    Pros

The people are awesome and passionate about what they do. It's fulfilling work. The organization is dynamic and mission-focused. The atmosphere is positive and feedback is open, welcome and constructive. There's so much going on in so many different areas, you could never learn it all and you can never be bored or not have something to do!

    Cons

It can be long hours when deadlines or events approach. Because it's non-profit, the compensation isn't as good as in for-profit, but that's to be expected.

    Advice to Management

Continue to communicate and listen to your employees, whether or not they have all the information, they are invested in the success of the organization as you are and will be even more so the more involved they feel you're allowing them to be.
