I have been working at Party City

    Pros

Pay is okay. That's about it.

    Cons

I work for a franchise. Party City corporate is probably operated much better than this franchise. Management has no idea what they're doing and can never make up their minds. Poor communication between all levels of management.
If you want a dead-end job and live in the Charlotte area...come to Party City.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Franchise management - read a business book.....any book.....i bet it will teach you something
Corporate management - take a look into this franchise, it's really hurting your name.

    I worked at Party City

    Pros

Party City is a decent place to work if you don't have a problem taking orders from three different managers.

    Cons

There was no formal training for my position. I didn't get my first paycheck until a month after my hiring date. Hours were very inconsistent and they were cut for no reason. I went from 38 hours a week to 12 hours a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide formal training, possibly from a lead associate or have the trainee shadow the lead for at least a day.
