I have been working at Passages Hospice full-time

Pros

Get so close to death.

Cons

Low pay with long working hours. I was sent to some place where I had to drive for more than one hour to do a death call at 12:00 AM. Despite of the weather, still have to go out on the holidays. Management plays "favorite" so often and so obvious. Yet they think, nobody knows.

I have been working at Passages Hospice full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Decent Salary and Bonus Opportunity
Getting to help comfort families and patients at the end of life
    Hiring process is not difficult

    Cons

Management has lack of communication amongst each other and employees.
    Lack of training.
Must be on call 24 hours a day. Admits on weekends and holidays.
Travel exceeds the amount of money given for gas allowance.
Disputes handled by management in unprofessional manner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to staff when they are asking for your help. Designate a specific trainer for each position and make sure each employee is thoroughly trained before they are thrown out into the field. Remember that hospice care is supposed to be focused on the patient and not just making money.
