Pros

-benefits
-small base salary
-learn industry
-professional and supportive environment

Cons

Leaders are the best arm chair QBs I've ever seen. Their office is inconveniently located by the airport and you will be expected to go to rah rah meetings once a week. Their biggest downfall is the uncanny ability to have reps spend hours on end engaging in pointless "non revenue" generating activities.

They treat their sales training like a classroom. Hours of mundane educational seminars. For anyone who understands sales you need to be spending hrs "selling" not "talking about selling".

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your people are going to sink or swim. We are all real proud of the tenured folks rocking numbers but they didn't accomplish that dissecting scorps for three hours in a Monday morning meeting.

Your territories are what yield a good portion of results. Fact. Don't sell your reps on team building and sunshine. Get in the field and fix your problems.

    Cons

High school atmosphere, management clueless or contributing to the "clic" environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what is going on with your employees BEFORE the problem escalates. Keep a line between management and employees.

    Pros

Paychex is a good company to start your career. Lots of very good training and a good jumping point to other positions.

    Cons

Very stressful work environment. If you are not meeting your goals, and they can sometimes be very unrealistic, you can be penalized by management. Not the best work life balance do to the high stress environment.
