Pros

Flexible, Work from Home capabilities, Global leader in education technology, global company, opportunity for advancement, great benefits, great company culture

Cons

Pearson is a very large company so it can feel as though you are stuck in a silo.

I have been working at Pearson

    Pros

Pearson, at least the Rancho Cordova location, has some of the greatest people to work with and for. The level of experience, knowledge and diversity amongst the employees is one of the things that make it such a cool place to work.

    Cons

Upward promotion can be a slow process, because this site is still fairly small, and the Pearson parent company is massive, meaning that there can sometimes be a lot of corporate bureaucracy in the larger organization.

I have been working at Pearson

    Pros

+ many very smart and genuinely nice people - a collegial environment
+ very little turnover. People seem to really like working here.
+ most everyone really cares about the work they do
+ great support from my manager (not sure if this true for everyone, but it is for me)
    + challenging work
    + flexible work arrangements
+ yearly bonuses if things are going well
+ working to improve office environments (should be a big improvement)

    Cons

    - biggest issue: pay ranges are low
    - most teams are understaffed
    - widely distributed teams, limited face-to-face interactions with some peers
    - decisions are very much top down, command and control is pretty much the norm
    - current office environments can be stifling, hard to interact with others

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the salary ranges more in line with the rest of the industry and the companies around us. You have some great employee, treat them well.
