    Pros

    Enjoy working on educational projects
    Great teamwork on smaller teams

    Cons

Red tape -- so much ineffeciency -- internal bureaucracy can be stiffling
    Educational market is very soft
Merit play often does not keep up with inflation -- annual increases for employees doing satisfactory or sometimes extraordinary work does not outpace the rising cost of living

    Advice to Management

Empower employees to get their work done. Too often we must fill out forms or enter information into systems that are not integrated.

Good for gaining experience but not great for career advancement.

    Pros

Flexible workplace, availability of interesting projects, exposure to senior management, decent benefits, clear company vision, plenty of opportunities to transfer jobs internally.

    Cons

Very political environment, limited opportunities for career advancement unless you leave the company or transfer jobs internally, salary is below market for the majority of technology positions.

    Advice to Management

Encourage managers to work with employees on career goals regularly instead of yearly. This will improve employee morale and retention.
