    I worked at Pearson full-time

    Pros

They did have a good vacation/time off policy. Pay was decent as well.

    Cons

Just about everything else is a con here. They entrusted one of the departments to a big headed egotistical moron. I suggest if you land in this department to get out ASAP. Trust no one here. This place has gone through several changes in ownership last few years. They are bunch of old folk that been here forever and are clinging to their jobs and will do anything to stay. There are a few nice people here but genuinely you have to watch yourself. You cannot suggest anything as they will take it that you are complaining. Even if its a genuine suggestion. They will monitor your bathroom breaks. Everything that you do will be scrutinized under a microscope. If you attempt to defend yourself you will be written up. I suggest you avoid this place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This place needs new blood. Needs to be completely evaluated and reworked. Some of the old mangers needs to retire or replace. Take some feedback from employees once in a while. Act on those suggestion once in a while.

Very corporate, lots of bureaucracy and micro-managing.

I worked at Pearson full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Working with education professionals is much less stressful than other groups, such as medical/pharmaceutical types. If you do make your sales quota, the compensation is good.

    Cons

Compensation is only paid out annually, and targets can often be unreasonably high. There is no consideration given to the loss of business to corporate book stores (such as Follett and Barnes & Noble), despite the fact that much of this loss of business is outside the control of the sales rep. The company used to be much more relaxed, imaginative, and creative. However as it has grown larger, it has become more corporate and almost entirely focused on profits over people. Turnover grew tremendously in my last year with the company, with many talented individuals leaving to join a competitor like Cengage or McGraw Hill.
