Pros

You'll get a discount on books.

Cons

No leadership with a hostile environment.

Advice to Management

Hire executives with technology backgrounds if you want to transition from print-to-digital. Try to grab the "magic" of education publishing, content, and editorial again before higher education institutions fully abandon Pearson.

    Pros

There is an excellent work-life balance; overtime is hardly ever necessary. Every day is very busy but there is never any stressful pressure. Everyone is very supportive.

    Cons

As with any corporation, there is a lot of bureaucracy - everyone is generally very friendly and approachable but responsibilities are clearly divided and there are relatively narrowly-defined career tracks. Sales is heavily emphasized.

    Pros

    - looks great on a resume
    - expertise in many areas of education
    - well-respected publisher

    Cons

    - leadership consistently makes uninformed decisions
    - SME's are given free reign, outside of their expertise
    - upper management has no concept of how technology works
    - cross-functional communication is frowned upon

    Advice to Management

Empower the people who are doing the work. You will get nowhere without them.
