I worked at Pearson full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Highly engaged and interested peers who work tirelessly despite the many challenges they encounter on a regular basis.

Cons

Very high turnover in leadership that means many efforts are abandoned, new jargon and lingo are introduced as new people want to make their mark, regular workers seem incredulous to such regular and inconsequential changes.

I have been working at Pearson part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The benefits they offer for part-time employees are excellent. They do not discriminate on the basis of age or race, etc. Clean, safe and professional working environment. So far they have not done any wage freezes, unlike several of my previous employers. They also offer a lot of learning opportunities for those who want it.

    Cons

Constantly changing procedures with very little tolerance for error. Although the help is out there, because there is so much information needed to do the job it is often difficult to find the right information quickly. Sometimes the deadlines given for tasks are difficult to accomplish with their time management guidelines, and yet I feel like there are no excuses allowed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Simplify the access to information. Everything in one place, and searchable with keywords. Because the expectations and work load of a test center manager is greater than that of the administrators, allowing the managers a little more flexible working hours to keep things running smoothly would be greatly appreciated.

    Pros

The best people to work with who are truly passionate about education. Great products to represent. Pay and benefits are very good.

    Cons

Lots of change with most publishing companies as they transition from print to digital and remain viable in this market. Big shake ups at the top with little hiring going on for the next 4-6 months

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have she'd some good talent. Keep them in mind as the market improves and hiring resumes.
