    Pros

~Pearson offers the flexibility to work from home once you have a year of experience with the company. The benefits are really good, as far as health insurance and retirement plans. ~There are opportunities to travel, sometimes to interesting places, on company business.

    Cons

~There are often long hours without any extra compensation. If you're on salary, it doesn't matter how many hours you have to work to make the deadline, that's what is expected. ~There have been a few times when certain projects have had to have people work on the weekends and have people from other projects also work on the weekend to help meet the deadline.
~Management isn't always supportive when presented with issues that direct reports have no power to influence, such as lack of resources to complete an assignment.
~Evaluation process has changed every year for the last 3 years, making meeting criteria for promotions difficult.
~Promotions, raises and bonuses aren't actually based on evaluations

    Advice to Management

    ~Improve communication
~Consider some kind of compensation for employees who are on salary but continuously must work over-time
~Stop changing evaluation process every year

    Pros

Easy, fair, reasonable, good working environment. With divisions all over the world, the company has certain scale to dominate in text book publishing area.

    Cons

Lack of top talent. Management always pushes for cost cutting. Although called itself as a technology company, a lot of work related to technology is outsourced. Emphasize too much on organization structures.

    Advice to Management

Too much reorganization would hurt the company.
