Pros

Smart people - alot of great people, but most don't stay that long
Great customers - they only work with Fortune 500
Good salary - competitive
Interesting projects
Agile development

Cons

Development skills not very transferable - you will learn alot about their product, and also use the product tools to develop the product itself, but there is really nowhere else you can apply such skills.
Engineering department isolated from other technical groups - unless you contact an engineer directly, you'd be unlikely to hear about what is going on.
Most of company stock is owned by the board - so it exists in a hazy sort of public but not quite public existence.
Product management is not unified - product subdivisions went through a couple changes in less than a year so no one knew what was really going on with roadmap and direction, employees of one group wouldn't be aware of what was being made in another group, changes to UI that were not backward compatible within the product, etc.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look to strengthen your employee retention policies. There was always a big push within recruiting, but managers should be held more accountable when anyone leaves.

    Pros

Non-executive employees are great to work with.

    Cons

Pushed all employees through product training when it wasn't necessary. If you're not in the "boys club", good luck trying to advance your career. Product is too complex.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating your employees like robots and treat them like human beings.

I have been working at Pegasystems full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Highly intelligent and motivated co-workers
    Numerous projects with good visibility
Ability to structure projects and make a real difference

    Cons

Disconnect between Product Management and Development teams
Decision makers have a hard time keeping to a goal and allowing the teams to finish 1 step of a project before starting the second

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow the team to finish the current set of tasks before making drastic changes. Solicit more feedback before making large scale changed
