Overall, a good Company for those that can perform and tolerate the nonsense.

Pros

Good product, great people in the trenches, market leadership position of strength, well positioned for a long run.

Cons

Too many big egos in senior management that do not add value. Compensation has been reduced in order to drive stock value. Top performers will not stay for the long term as a result. Professional Services leadership only interested in 50% margins and not customer success. Must learn to bite your tongue to survive.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Act like you've been to a big company before. Start sharing the wealth with those who deliver. Recognize which leaders are anything but.

I worked at Pegasystems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Nice that you build everything using one product/technology.
If you're in with management you're a protected class
    Interesting challenges

    Cons

Cruel and selfish old boy network. Mangers have little skill in leadership and are not forth coming with face to face honesty.

You're pigeonholed into a single product and you lose cross application and state of the art skills.

Very male centric club. Women don't bother pretending it will change. It hadn't yet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove half of your leadership team and one level below. Start over and recruit legitimate managers who have vision and can support and represent their organizations.

I worked at Pegasystems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Interesting Product and some smart people left (but they're nearly all gone or retired)

    Cons

Abusive management - You are either flogged to get work done, or you become one of those who do the flogging Too much offshoring - US Engineering mostly serves to compensate for poor quality of India output. Uninformed decisioning - your feedback is not welcomed, your only job is to make your boss look good. The "new" offices are pretty on the surface, but reveal the underlying heavily politicized pecking order

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a lot of deadwood in senior management costing the company heavily - cut them out, and give the rank and file time to recover and grow.
