I have been working at People's United Bank full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very small institution so you are able to meet many of the higher ups and it is easy to communicate to senior management.

    Cons

Compensation plan is not very lucrative, their goals are far too aggressive for a bank that has about 1-3% of the market share in every town they're in. There is very limited support for branch staff like for example; back office never has the answer to your questions or almost never answers the phone, compensation plan is very frugal and the sales tools are very poor. It almost feels as if they don't care about you meeting your numbers and more about fitting in. Very inefficient in respect to getting things done in a timely fashion for customers. I can keep going but I think you get the idea.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide better training for branch staff, hire more back office support and focus more on goals than on petty rumors. The branches in your footprint states besides Connecticutt need more attention; focus more on the untapped markets rather than on the saturated Connecticutt Market. We don't care what legacy connecticutt does if we don't even have the tools to acquire and grow in our market. We need competitive rates, efficient systems, uniformality across the franchise, professionalism and a better back office.
