Great experience, but the place is a sweat shop.

I worked at PepsiCo full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great brands and the people that you will get to work with are some of the brightest minds in our field. Job security is also a plus - they rarely have layoffs that impact much of the marketing department and when they do have cuts, it's usually at the upper levels.

    Cons

It's a win at all costs type of place and that means being willing to put in 12 hour workdays as junior marketer. Unfortunately, that is the norm and not the exception.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you evaluate your employees you preach the rhetoric of people-side objectives being 50% of your review and business-side objectives being the other 50%. How about looking at employees work/life balance through the same progressive lens... you have the opportunity to so much more than a sweatshop.
