Former Employee - Account Manager  in  Hayward, CA
Former Employee - Account Manager in Hayward, CA

    Pros

Starting salary is good for a recent college graduate (though not for the actual work you have to do)
Front line employees are kind and personable, doing what they can to help each other since managerial help is nonexistent.

    Cons

Terrible management - I had 4 bosses in less than 2 years, none particularly competent. The person who hired me, the head of the Hayward branch, was gone within 2 months of my start date. He had promised to oversee my career, be involved, meet frequently, and monitor our progress. None of this happened with him or future bosses.

All about the numbers. You're only as good as your previous day. Be ready for a 5AM - 5PM day with no "Thank You's". Managers call at all hours of the day and night to discuss sales numbers and what can be improved.

Push push push even if it is not right for the account / customer.

Cutthroat and timid atmosphere. Everyone is fearing for their jobs and managers have little to no relationship with employees.

Little to no room for advancement despite a promised career path.

Insane amount of turnover because everyone cannot wait to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Care about the employees
Follow through on what you say
Stop changing managers all the time and build relationships with employees and customers
Realize that happy employees and ones that believe in the product will sell more - don't just intimidate them to reach numbers
    Give opportunities for advancement

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
