I worked at Percepta full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Local (for people that happen to live near it)
    Good work/life ratio

    Cons

Lack of progression is a serious issue within this company - Percepta offer less employee development than a sandwich shop in Burnley, coupled with the disparate salarys in comparison with Ford, it is very difficult to not feel somewhat short changed.

I was lucky to work in one of the better (more grown up) positions, but every day was a grind, every call or email received was bleak and difficult to resolve - coupled with the fact that I was not given
the right access or tools to do the job in hand, made the posion untenable.
I soon realised that I was little more than a filter between Ford management and the customers.

The words "corporate Zombie" will become very familiar if you accept an offer of employment here, never will you feel so undervalued or superfluous to the client (Ford), never will you recieve a nod for a job well done, but will always be made an example of if a foot is put wrong - with this is mind, there is little incentive to do anything but the bear minimum.

Job satisfaction is non existant in this pit of dispair.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management for the most part is transparent, the only time you will ever hear from them is if you are being sacked or disciplined.
My advice to them would be to take a greater interest in their subordinates

I have been working at Percepta full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Its quite close to home

    Cons

Focus is always on the costs, not development of empolyees.
Management will not put any focus in to retaining talented individuals. Invariably, people who can do a decent job leave, the remaining uninterested staff train new starters to a low level, Ford become dissatisfied, Percepta lose the contract. Percepta need to focus on keeping staff and demonstrating that they are valued.
There are so many inconsistancies in the management of sickness and holiday. Some people seem to be allowed to have as much time off as they want and turn up when they want. Others will get a file note for being two seconds late.
There is no progression above the farcical "team leader" position.
Pizza is offered once a month in lieu of a career

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on retaining staff, not just cutting costs.
Treat people with dignity and respect

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
