Former Employee – worked at Perceptive Informatics full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good holiday (25 days, with options to buy 5 additional)
Good pension
Good benefits (private health, dental and various other offers)
Ability to rise up relatively quickly through positions with hard work
Pleasant colleagues, with an active company social scene
Cons – Low pay, with the gap becoming more noticeable when compared to senior roles in other companies.
Internal tools which have no bearing on the wider industry as a whole, leaving you without the skills needed to move on and develop as a programmer.
Infuriating quantities of paperwork and procedures (partly due to the clinical trials industry) which make the nature of the work often very repetitive and tedious.
Advice to Senior Management – Work on streamlining processes and reducing the sheer amount of paperwork, increase the pay for programmers and switch to a recognised programming language so that you open up the option to hire senior programmers whilst not making current employees feel like they need to leave if they stand a chance of having any useable skills in the wider workplace.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
